The Clone Emporium vs Boston Clone Co.

Same HLVd lab. Very different amount of information before you buy.

Boston Clone Co. is a Massachusetts nursery selling rooted clones and breeder cuts. They are a genuine grower with a real reputation, and they test their mother stock with the same lab we use. The difference between us is not testing philosophy. It is how much they will tell you before you hand over your email address.

Checked against their own site on 24 August 2026.

Where they beat us

Monthly HLVd retesting. We test every mother. They say they retest every mother every month. If they do it, that is a tighter cadence than most nurseries run, and it is the right way to catch an infection that arrived after the first clean result.

They publish their IPM. Their pest management page lists the actual products and how they use them, down to dunking clones as an outgoing QC step. We do not publish that level of detail and they deserve credit for it.

A real reputation in New England. They have been in the scene and people know them. A published price list is not the only thing that makes a nursery worth buying from.

The honest summary

This one is not about who grows better plants. It is about how much you have to give up to find out what things cost.

To buy from them you request a menu, wait for an email, and hope what you want is on it. To buy from us you open the shop, see 854 strains at $40 each with stock showing, and check out. Both of us test our mothers with Tumi Genomics. Only one of us will hand you the results.

If you already have their menu and the price works for you, buy the plant. If you are trying to compare two nurseries before spending money, one of us has made that possible.
